May has brought lots of happy times for both residents and their families as they were able to enjoy trips out to shops and restaurants. We’ve loved hearing all about their days when they return On 8th May we celebrated VE Day with our indoor street parties complete with champagne (fake of course !!) and cream scones. Everyone joined in the singalong waiving their Union Jack flags with obvious pride A particularly enjoyable day for all was our ‘Day at the Fair’ residents were able to experience some old fairground favourites such as ‘Tin Can Alley’ and ‘Hook a Duck’
They also enjoyed some traditional treats of popcorn and candy floss As always we’ve been making every effort to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy the gardens, going for gentle strolls around or simply just sitting on the benches chatting and enjoying some nice refreshments We have had 6 birthdays here at Damfield and each one has been celebrated with a singalong and some quite spectacular cakes provided by our wonderful kitchen staff Looking forward to a nice sunny June with lots of activities already planned and more importantly hopefully the easing of more restrictions
